TITLE: Who’s In Charge DATE: March 22, 2019 TEXT :Acts 5:27b-29- ESV –“ the high priest questioned them, 28 saying, “We strictly charged you not to teach in this name, yet here you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and you intend to bring this man's blood upon us.” 29 But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men” The actor Chris Pratt is among the A-list of leading men in movies. Which explains why, as far as Hollywood is concerned, he is supposed to set a “good example” for the rest of the world. Now when I say “good example” that doesn't mean:
NOTE; If you are like me, you may not know what LGBTQ stands for. I knew some of the initials but the last couple of letters threw me for a loop. So I looked it up. It stands for: lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning. I still don’t know what is questioning. I guess they don’t either.
Folks, it makes no difference who says it: the High Priest, Jim Jones, the LGBTQ folk or the party parliament in Beijing, the answer is always the same: We must obey God rather than men” Christianity teaches Jesus is the Savior from sin; it doesn't pretend your favorite sin doesn't exist. You may not like it; you may not appreciate it and you certainly may not applaud it, but that is the way it is. Jesus saves sinful souls. THE PRAYER: Dear Lord, the hymn writer prayed it, 1. Jesus sinners doth receive; Oh, may all this saying ponder Who in sin's delusions live And from God and heaven wander! Here is hope for all who grieve-- Jesus sinners doth receive. Amen TLH #324 Today’s devotion was inspired by various articles, amongst which is the one written Michael Foust for Christian Headlines on February 22, 2019 .
